- Organize Your Community
Seventy-nine percent of Philadelphians believe that casinos should not be forced into our neighborhoods. Citizens feel their concerns are being ignored, that our politicians are corrupt, and that there is nothing they can do about it. We need you to reach out to your neighbors and friends and show them that there are actions they can take.
Here are some ways you can get others involved in your neighborhood.
Neighbor-to-Neighbor Outreach
Materials are currently being developed. Contact us for materials and suggestions for talking with your neighbors.
Host a House Party
Help us raise awareness of Casino-Free Philadelphia while having fun with your friends by hosting a house party. House party kits are currently being developed. If you plan on hosting a party and would like to arrange for Casino-Free Philadelphia Executive Team members to attend your party, or would like help planning the event, please contact us.
Invite Casino-Free Philadelphia to Speak to Your Organization or Group
We are happy to come speak to a group in your community or an organization about the costs of casinos. Please contact us for more information.
Write a Letter to the Editor
The letters to the editor section is one of the most widely-read sections of the newspaper and can reach a large audience, from your neighbors to the rest of the city. It allows community members to comment on the way issues are being addressed in the media and to influence the topics the local paper may choose to cover. Elected officials often monitor this section of the newspaper and take notice of constituents' opinions.
Remember, editors want to hear from you in your own words! Feel free to use information from this website, but adapt it into your words for your letter.
